We went to see Chess last night. The set is amazing and the singing and dancing is of the highest quality. However other than the two most well known songs i.e One Night In Bangkok and I Know Him So Well the sound quality is such that it is very difficult to hear the words and makes it hard to follow the plot - thin as it is. The actual chess scenes were laboured and boring. Sorry but I cannot recommend Chess as a "must see".

I found this very painful to sit through and almost left at the interval. With the exception of Michael Ball and the female leads, some of the belting was out of tune. The second half was better. The seats were really uncomfortable. I have seen a lot of great shows, but this was the worst in a while. They were expensive seats close to the stage for a special birthday. What a disappointment.
